Day three, patience level minus ten
Today is day three of the kitchen project. We have to polyure…polyury..shellac the cabinet shelves and fronts. We have been inhaling paint fumes and eating out of boxes for three days. Labor Day is the right word for today. Even the pets are sick of this process.
The dog has white paint all along his left side. It’s a neat look, quite contemporary and fresh. It’s going to be a pain in the a to get out. Cat is eating under the end table. He’s not happy about being crammed in a tiny little crevice with his food dish. The fish is giving me evil looks.
And every single thing in the house is out of place and dotted with paint and primer. The bathtub is full of dirty dishes. Laundry is in piles all over. The dining table is in the living room and I’m not sure that I can ever get this place back in order.
Closing note: We are experimenting with epoxy coating the hideous counter tops. They are currently ‘harvest orange’ from about 1973 and I am sick of looking at them…this is before:
